Pantone Birth Chart Palette

Translate your astrological placements into a Pantone color palette. Pick your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs — Venus optional — and see a four-swatch chart with each placement mapped to a curated Pantone-referenced color. Download the chart as a PNG for sharing, or copy a share URL that encodes all four selections. Entirely client-side.

What is a Pantone birth chart?

A Pantone birth chart maps your astrological placements — Sun sign, Moon sign, Rising sign, and optionally Venus sign — to specific Pantone colors. The idea is aesthetic, not scientific: it is a way to translate the mood associations of each placement into color, then display those colors as a personal palette. Sun sign is your outward identity, Moon sign is your emotional register, Rising sign is your first impression, and Venus sign is your aesthetic and love language. Four placements, four colors — a small, curated palette that fits the astrological story of your birth chart.

The specific sign-to-color mappings are my own curation, drawn from popular astrology color traditions rather than any official Pantone system. Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) tend toward vivid warm tones — reds, oranges, golds. Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) tend toward soft or deep cool tones — muted blues, deep purples, ocean greens. Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) tend toward grounded neutrals — greens, greys, warm browns. Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) tend toward light and vivid pastels — yellows, lavenders, bright blues. Within each sign, the four placements are differentiated: Sun is the sign\'s primary color, Moon is a softer or deeper variant, Rising is a brighter first-impression variant, and Venus is the aesthetic variant.

How to use this tool

  1. Pick your Sun sign from the first dropdown. If you only know your Sun sign, that single selection will still render a 1-color chart — but a full chart needs all three mandatory placements.
  2. Pick your Moon sign and Rising sign from the other two dropdowns.
  3. Optionally pick your Venus sign — this adds a fourth swatch and completes the traditional "big four" placements.
  4. Click "Download PNG" to save a shareable 1200×1200 image card, or "Copy share URL" to get a link that restores your selections on any browser.

Where to find your placements

If you do not know your Moon, Rising, or Venus signs, you need your exact birth time (hour and minute) and birth location. Free natal chart generators are available at Astro.com, Astro-Seek.com, and Co-Star. Enter your birth details, and the chart will list all of your placements — not just Sun. Once you have them, pick each from the dropdowns above.

Note: some people have a different Sun sign from what a newspaper horoscope says, because the Sun can shift signs mid-day on the cusp dates. If you were born on the first or last day of a sign period, use your exact birth time to determine the true Sun sign. The date ranges shown in this tool are the standard ranges — cusp births may differ.

How the chart is rendered

Selecting each placement reads the corresponding color from the zodiac data. Each color is drawn as a large rectangle with the sign symbol, name, and HEX value below it. If you download a PNG, the tool renders a square 1200×1200 image card via Canvas with the same four swatches and a title reading "My Pantone Birth Chart." Share URLs encode the four selections as query parameters, so a link like ?sun=aries&moon=leo&rising=scorpio&venus=taurus will restore the same chart.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Pantone birth chart?

A Pantone birth chart maps your astrological placements — Sun sign, Moon sign, Rising sign, and optionally Venus sign — to specific Pantone colors, then displays them as a 4-swatch palette. The idea is aesthetic, not scientific: it is a way to translate the mood associations of each placement into color. This tool uses a curated interpretation of each sign-to-color mapping, drawn from popular astrological color traditions rather than any official Pantone system. Treat it as a creative reference and a shareable graphic, not as an authoritative claim about your personality or your life.

How is each color chosen?

Each of the 48 placements (12 signs × 4 placement types) has a curated color, chosen to match the traditional element and mood associations of the sign: fire signs tend toward vivid warm tones, water signs toward soft or deep cool tones, earth signs toward grounded neutrals and greens, air signs toward light and vivid pastels. Within each sign, the four placements are differentiated — Sun is the sign's primary color, Moon is a softened or deepened variant, Rising is a brighter first-impression variant, and Venus is the aesthetic/love-oriented variant. Each HEX also has a Pantone reference name so you can look it up in the catalog.

Where do I find my Sun, Moon, Rising, and Venus signs?

Your Sun sign is the one most people know — determined by your date of birth. Your Moon sign, Rising sign (Ascendant), and Venus sign require your exact birth time and location, and the easiest way to find them is to generate a free natal chart at a site like Astro.com, Astro-Seek.com, or Co-Star. Once you have the four placements, select each from the dropdowns above to build your chart.

Is this an official Pantone product?

No. This tool is independent and not affiliated with Pantone LLC or any astrology service. The colors are my own curated mapping of signs to HEX values, drawn from popular color-astrology traditions. The Pantone reference names shown next to each HEX are close matches from our catalog — they are not endorsed or created by Pantone. For actual brand work or product specifications, always verify colors against physical Pantone chips.

Can I download my Pantone birth chart as an image?

Yes — after selecting your placements, click the Download PNG button below the palette. The tool generates a square image card (1200×1200 px, optimized for Instagram) containing your four colors as large swatches, the sign symbols, and the HEX values. The image is generated entirely in your browser using the Canvas API — no upload, no server, no data leaves your device. You can also copy a share URL that encodes all four selections, so anyone opening the link sees the same chart.

What if I do not know my Venus sign?

Venus is optional. The Sun, Moon, and Rising placements are sufficient for a complete chart — Venus is an optional fourth swatch that many people do not have memorized. If you skip Venus, the chart displays three colors. If you know it, add it and the chart expands to four swatches.
