RAL to HEX Converter
Pick any RAL Classic color to see its HEX, RGB, CMYK, and LAB values. All 213 RAL Classic codes are covered. HEX values are approximations of the physical RAL standard — use them for design reference and digital mockups, and always verify against a physical RAL swatch before committing to paint or powder-coat production.
What is RAL?
RAL is a color matching system administered by RAL gGmbH, a German institute for quality assurance and certification. It was developed in 1927 for industrial paint users in Germany and has since become the de facto standard across Europe for paint, powder-coat, and plastic finishes. The RAL Classic library — the subject of this page — contains 213 color codes, all identified by a four-digit number in one of nine hue families (1000-series yellows, 2000-series oranges, 3000-series reds, 4000-series violets, 5000-series blues, 6000-series greens, 7000-series greys, 8000-series browns, 9000-series whites and blacks).
Unlike Pantone, which is a print and ink standard, RAL is primarily a paint and powder-coat standard. RAL codes appear most frequently on industrial equipment, machinery, architectural metalwork, traffic signage, appliances, and manufactured goods. There is no single "official" digital HEX value for any RAL code, because RAL is a physical paint standard — hex values are unofficial translations that vary by 2–5% across reference sources.

Accuracy and limitations
Every HEX value on this page is an approximation. RAL does not publish official HEX values — the standard defines physical paint swatches, not digital colors. Different published sources (RAL's own digital tools, paint-supply catalogs, industrial references) can disagree by 2–5% for the same RAL code.
The values here are mid-range approximations that closely match the most commonly-cited references. They are useful for design reference, digital mockups, and as a starting point for conversion to Pantone, CMYK, or other systems. They are not a substitute for physical RAL swatches when ordering paint or powder-coat — always verify against the physical sample.

Frequently asked questions
What is RAL 7016 in HEX?
RAL 7016 (Anthracite Grey) has a HEX approximation of #293133. This is the widely-published mid-range value — RAL is a physical paint standard, and different reference sources vary by 2–5% for the same RAL code. #293133 is close to every commonly-published reference for 7016.
What is RAL 9010 in HEX?
RAL 9010 (Pure White) has a HEX value of #FFFFFF — it is genuinely pure white in the RAL Classic library. RAL 9003 (Signal White) is #F4F4F4, and RAL 9016 (Traffic White) is #F6F6F6. RAL 9010 is the only true white in the classic library with a HEX that matches #FFFFFF.

Are RAL HEX values accurate?
They are approximations. RAL is a physical paint and powder-coat standard, not a digital color standard, so hex values are unofficial translations. Different published sources vary by 2–5% for the same RAL code. Our values are mid-range approximations that match the most commonly cited references. Always verify against a physical RAL swatch before production.
How do I use RAL HEX values in CSS?
Any RAL HEX value can be used directly in CSS, e.g. background: #293133 for RAL 7016. But be aware: RAL colors are optimized for paint on metal or plastic, not for screens or paper. A RAL color rendered in CSS will look "correct" on a calibrated display but may not match the physical paint chip under real lighting. For accurate digital representation of a RAL color, use the values as a starting point and verify against a physical sample.
